Virtual Board Meeting
Wednesday, 8/12/20 ॐ 9am
Present: Tresa, Heather, Susan, Rebecca, Sarah The meeting began with a moment of prayer for our beloved teacher and sister, Pat Layton. President Update: Tresa is still working on the newsletter. She will be also adding an additional piece about Pat Layton. There will also be some mention of the committees. Tresa reported on the progress of the Strategic Planning Committee. Tresa brought it up on the screen and shared many details of it with the directors. The time frames have not been created yet. The idea is for each committee to review their roles and make sure they appear accurate. The committees also need to look over the priorities and come back with a timeframe that seems reasonable to them. We hope to have some of it done for the September meeting. Heather went over the committees’ goals and objectives and explained how the list was laid out in the plan. Tresa emphasized that even if you just report back that you read your committee roles, that’s understandable. It’s a super busy time for most of us. Because of the density of the plan, we decided to wait until September to vote on the strategic plan. It will give the directors more time to review the large document. Sarah reported that the finances are about the same as last month. She also mentioned that we are currently listed as a “non-profit foundation”, requiring a lengthy form 990-PF. Sarah and Tresa, collectively, have talked to three CPAs that have said this designation is incorrect. Our options are to contact the IRS or to start a new organization with a similar name. Rebecca made a motion to accept the financials. Susan second it. All directors voted yes. The next meeting will be on Wednesday, Sept. 9th at 10:30. Respectfully submitted, Susan Pack
