Ayurvedic Association of Wisconsin (AAW)

Virtual Board Meeting

Wednesday, 6/17/20  9am

Present: Tresa, Heather, Susan, Sarah, Rebecca

Heather shared with the directors the contact information for Susan Ethridge. Her website is https://www.alternativehealthlaw.com/. The board thought she might be a potential speaker for a future webinar on Ayurveda and legal issues. Tresa told the board that AAW has a Facebook Group, but not a page. Right now, the group has 162 members. There was a discussion about who are the administrators and if we should continue with the page. Tresa added Susan and Heather as admin. Our directive is to add anyone who appears to be interested, but to use some discretion if someone looks suspicious. More on what to do with the FB group will be discussed in future strategic planning meetings. Sarah shared with the financials. The directors unanimously approved them. Tresa shared the draft of our new mission statement that came from the strategic planning meeting. The draft is as follows: AAW ‘s mission is to support a community rooted in Ayurveda by providing education, connection, and resources. We are committed to serving both the practitioners of Ayurveda and those interested in using Ayurveda on their healing path. After some discussion, the directors created this: AAW ‘s mission is to support a state-wide community rooted in Ayurveda by providing education, connection, and resources. We are committed to serving both the practitioners professionals of Ayurveda and those interested in using Ayurveda on their healing path. This last statement is a draft and has not been approved by the board of directors. The directors discussed a newsletter and agreed to do it quarterly for now. We agreed that we should aim for producing one at the end of August and one for the holiday season. In the future, 2021, we hope to get on a regular publishing schedule and hopefully someday, do a monthly newsletter. For the Meet-up page, which has not been used much recently, we hope to use it more often going forward. Programs listed need to be free except for the program listings of Rebecca and Carol. Rebecca and Carol paid the organization to be listed as a “Community Partner” which allows them extra privileges. The next meeting will be on Wednesday, July 1st at 10:30. Respectfully submitted, Susan Pack
