MINUTES

Ayurvedic Association of Wisconsin (AAW)

Virtual Board Meeting

Wednesday, 9/9/20  9am

Present: Tresa, Heather, Susan, Rebecca, Sarah Guest: Bridget Wells President Update: Tresa discussed how the organization was doing a bit of housekeeping, reorganizing, and yet still moving forward. Tresa discussed the Fall newsletter. Despite wanting to publish it in August, life got in the way. She is continuing to move forward on it. Tresa also talked about supporting our online presence with Meet-up and our Facebook group. There was a discussion about whether our board minutes should be posted on our website. There have been no current ones posted, only older ones. We either should update the website by posting them, and making them current, or take them all down. Tresa will work on posting them all to the website. Sarah shared with us the financials. Susan made a motion to approve the financials. Rebecca second it. The financials were approved by the board. Sarah shared with us some confusion about a sales tax number. Nicole had gotten a form letter, as president of the “old” board, saying that we needed to pay sales tax. The AAW has not sold anything. Tresa will work on sorting it all out. Heather discussed a few committee updates. She reported that the Education and Outreach Committee has met but needs to meet again. During their meeting, they discussed monthly blogs and quarterly webinars. The Diversity and Inclusion Committee also met. Heather gave an update on the activity around this committee. She has reached out to several practitioners in Wisconsin and they had their initial meeting. The committee felt that the attention to inclusion and diversity should be part of each committee versus only coming from this committee. Susan reported that she has plans to meet with Carol Nace this Friday to talk about the Buying Club committee. Susan also reported on the AAW Networking group. After Heather observing the last session and Susan talking one-on-one with some of the regular members, everyone agreed to leave it as is. The next meeting will be on Thursday, Oct. 15th at 2:00 PM Respectfully submitted, Susan Pack
