Ayurvedic Association of Wisconsin (AAW)

Virtual Board Meeting

6/1/20  9am

Present: Tresa, Heather, Susan, Sarah Excused: Rebecca As with the other meetings, this one began with a sharing of new things we are personally doing. Sarah said the financials are identical to last month. She is still working with Stacey to get not only all the financial information, but also information on the Affiliate/Community Partner program. Stacey will share when everyone paid their annual membership. Right now, there are three businesses that fit that bill: Bodhi, Ajara, and Mosaic. Sarah will also be filing our taxes by July 15th . Heather shared with us the working document on the committees. Right now, they are all chaired by a board director with most committees having more than one director serving on it. We hope to get more of the community involved in the future. Tresa hopes to send us a shell/framework for the next newsletter that will be sent out around August 1st. Tresa will write a section, as president, on what we the organization is presently working on, such as the strategic plan, forming committees, bylaws, etc. Tresa has also been in touch with Jessica, our tech person. She is researching how to create a practitioner directory that is searchable. Tresa shared with the directors the work that had been done from the strategic planning committee. The highlight was the goals for each of the three items in the mission statement, “education, connection, and resources”. Tresa shared the draft of our new mission statement that came from the strategic planning meeting. The draft is as follows: AAW ‘s mission is to support a state-wide community rooted in Ayurveda by providing education, connection, and resources. We are committed to serving both the practitioners of Ayurveda and those interested in using Ayurveda on their healing path. Susan moved to accept the new mission statement. Sarah seconded it. All the directors voted yes. The next meeting will be on Wednesday, July 15th at 10:30. Respectfully submitted, Susan Pack
